Playing catch up!

I need to desperately get caught up. But where to start. I guess with a week or two before Father's Day. So a little history. I come from a family of strictly fly fishermen. Micah comes from a family that lake fishes. Explanation ended. Micah took a fly fishing class in college and had fun with it but never really took it further then that. That is until we met. Okay after we got married. Since we live about ten minutes from my Brothers fishing hole we have met up with them a few times. I always felt bad though because they were always in the water and Micah fishing from the bank. He was okay with it. That was until a week before Father's Day of this year. We finally went and got Micah his fly fishing gear. All of it. Like his fly rod, flies, waders, boots, vest, fly box. I could keep going but you get the idea. The poor kid was so excited to use the stuff but he ended up waiting a few days due to timing of everything.
Here he is picking out flies with my brother Pete.
Practicing his casting with his new rod in our back yard.
And him in his new get up for fishing. Haha he HATES his picture taken and it took a lot for me to get him to let me take it. I will take what I can get. Anyways so Tuesday before Blake was born we finally went to the river with my brother Pete and Micah got to use his stuff. He enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching him! I don't know what it is, probably the fact I grew up watching my brothers and dad fly fish but I find it attractive. So the fact my husband enjoys it is a bonus for me. I also love going and sitting by the river. Can you blame me when I have this view!!!
Anyways. So this all happened the week leading up to Blake's birth. A week after he was born we went down to my moms house. I get stir crazy if I sit around for too long and I will admit I wanted to take my baby somewhere. And with it brig summer. I am glad I don't have to worry and RSV season...just yet. At my moms my sister in law, Becky, with Becky Ann photography, took Blake's newborn pictures. In my moms front room!
The next weekend we went down for Taylorsville Dayzz. We just went for the fireworks and sadly I dot have any pictures. But yes we took Blake and yes he slept through the fireworks. And yes we protected his two week old ears. :) we stayed the night and went to my aunt and uncles homecoming talk. Reporting on their mission in Germany. It was so good to see them! And of course family. We have also been to a two week appointment for Blake and found out he was weighing in at 7lbs 5oz at two weeks. He was also circumcised (no pictures of course!) and found out he is a tuff little dude and didn't cry! It amazed Micah and I might add, he bragged about it! What a proud set of parents are we! Three weeks old brought on the 4th of July! Again no pictures. But man he was fussy that night! He would not go to sleep! He fights it like a fat kid eats cake! It's quit pathetic actually. We also went and saw disposable me 2 and loved it. It will be added to the collection! We went to a gender reveal party for Micah's sister and her husband and found out that Blake will be getting another boy cousin!! We also saw just how much of a binki baby Blake really is!
Yup! He is sucking on the side of the binki! I told you he was a binki boy! Don't worry we don't want him having a binki older then a year. We took Blake fishing on his first trip to Jordanelle to catch some perch.
He enjoyed it so much he slept through it all!!
Sadly we didn't catch any perch.
But we caught lots of bass! Nothing no enough to keep though!  We have been enjoying spending time with Brinton and Becky and the kids while they are here and even caught Dane sleeping comfortably.
Blake got his first big toy purchase
An activity mat, he is still trying to get used to it!
.we love cuddling with dad! In fact we love it so much that at times...he is the only one who can settle Blake down and get him to sleep! Grandma Moeller doesn't quit get it! Ha!
Blake is obviously the cool kid on the block!!!! We also had the woods side baby shower! Ashley came and enjoyed holding Blake some more!
An then we went fishing again his past Friday with Brinton and Pete!!! Brinton caught fish! Pete caught a couple and Micah caught one with lots of hits!
Brintons fish
Pete's fish
And Micah's fish!
Such a little thug milk beard and all!
Saturday was mine and Micah's one year anniversary! Blake got baby sat by grammie and me and Micah got to go to Cheesecake Factory!!! We were going to go to the roof but opted for Cheesecake Factory. Cheep and you still get full and get to take home your left overs!!! Monday Blake hit his one month mark and he is getting bigger everyday! We love him to death and have a hard time believing he is ours and that we aren't just tending someone else's baby. One day I'm sure it will hit. I think that catches us up to date! Hopefully I will update it often now!!!

Blake's birth story

It all started on Tuesday night. June 11th. Micah wanted to go fishing so I tagged along  as usual. I enjoy watching him fish. I grew up fishing. So I find it enjoyable. While on the bank of the river watching Micah fish, the contractions started. I wasn't sure if they were contractions but figured they were. I told Micah I thought I was having them. But nothing consistent or painful. So we brushed it off for the time being. Micah stayed home Wednesday not knowing if we would need to head to the hospital sometime that day. He could have gone to work in the end because it wasn't until 1:30am Wednesday night/Thursday morning that we headed  the hospital. We got there and I found out I was dilated to a one which I hadn't dilated until then at all. I had effaced to 80% but no dilation. So we were happy. We stayed for a hour and the nurse came back in to check me at 2:50 am I was still at a one. Contracting every 3 minutes. We were frustrated because I was having pain with my contractions to the point of not being able to sleep. And they were coming every three minutes at that point. My doctor told me to come in when they were every four minutes for one hour lasting one minute. I had been timing them for a while and they were in consistent but lasted for about a minute maybe even shorter. So we were about to be discharged when Blake's heartbeat would drop at the beginning of every contraction for a couple of seconds. Which if its going to drop they want it to drop at the beginning of one. But only for a second. The nurse...Jenny...called the doctor on call and told him about it and he decided he wanted to keep me till he got there at 7 am so we got as comfortable as you possibly can with being in a hospital and called it a night. He got there at 8 am and checked me and I was at a 1 and a half after contracting all night. So we got sent home. Micah stayed home again that day just in case I needed to go back. His parents had left to go to a family reunion the day before and so I would have been left alone. Nothing consistent happened that day. Brinton and Becky finally saw me pregnant in person that day though!! They got into town the night before and came up with my mom sister and brother. We hung out for a little bit and they left to go home and me and Micah sat around for the evening and eventully went to bed I contacted more throughout the night and Micah went to work the next day. Having his phone at his side not knowing yet again if it would be the day. I timed my contractions all day long and they were about every three to eight minutes apart all day. Micah came home after staying at work all day and I was to the point of tears so we went in...again. Got to the hospital at a two. They had me walk for a hour and checked me again and I was the same. Frustrated we went home again. I know what your thinking. No I am not dumb. You don't know what pain to wait for as a first time mom. Well that night about two hours after we got home I was screaming in pain. Literally! ALL-NIGHT-LONG!!!!! I didn't get ANY sleep and poor Micah. He didn't get much if any either. I'm sure the fact I was constipated (I know tmi but I want to remember all the details) so I call labor and delivery and found out I could use done suppositories to help so off we went at 4:30 am for some and that helped a tiny bit. We ended up heading to the hospital at about 7:15 7:30 and when I got there the nurses asked if I was Heidi. Pathetic right? I said yes and he one nurse said I'm going to check you before I hook you up real quick. So she heckled to see how far along I was and I was at a four and a half. So she said we will keep you. That was music to our ears. She hooked me up to the monitors and gave me pitocin to keep my contractions regular. (they eventually got to every minute for a minute long!) and asked when I wanted my epidural I said right away. I haven't slept for three days. So she called the anesthesiologist and he got there within probably 20-30 minutes. He lives in Park City thankfully. I was a bit nervous to get my epidural but it was cake. I didn't even realize he had given it to me before he said k your done. I was expecting a little pain from it going in. So after I got that we tried to rest. I had too much adrenaline though. The nurse came and checked me a hour later after my epidural I was a 6 and a half and then two hours after that I was fully dilated. So I say up for a half hour so Blake could descend more so I wouldn't have to push as hard or as long. I started pushing at 12:30 pm the first time I pushed his heart rate dropped really low. It eventually came back up but they had me lay on my side and push and that worked for a couple pushes but eventually it started to drop again and so I went back to my back and it stayed up above the point of where its too low. I pushed for a hour and he was born at 1:29 pm. He had swallowed/inhaled marconium so they had a respiratory therapist there ready to clean it out and they were doing that for a hour. Side note. They noticed the marconium before and so thy said hey won't lay him on me right away because of that and the risks I said that's fine but I guess the doctor didn't get the memo. Or something because she layed him on me right away. And he swallowed it when he took his first breath. I loved my doctor though. But had she not done that they might have been able to get it out days enough. But that's okay. So eventually I got to hold Blake and everything and he was perfect. He weight 7 lbs 1 oz and got his dads height coming in at 21 inches. I don't know what I was scared of or why people say you don't recover as well if you have a epidural because honestly I only took medicine for cramping and it was the night after he was born. And it was ibuprofen. And then a few days after I came home because of being sore. But I was up and walking the same day and slept great that night and came home two days later and wanted to go for a walk and everything. It really didn't faze me and I would totally do it and will do it all over again. Just give me a few years. Haha.
