11 Months

I can't believe Blake will be 1 year old next month. This has been the fastest year of my life. This kid is so much fun. He currently is--

-Standing without support
-getting into things when he knows he isn't supposed to. And if you call out his name he will jump and drop whatever is in his hands and look completely innocent.
-started to finally sleep better at night and I really hope he keeps it up (knock on wood)
-looks older then he really is. I saw a baby this weekend that is a week older then Blake and the baby looks like a 6 month old still.
-Still tall and thin.
- Still loves to self feed.
-Would eat a village if I let him.
-loves Ritz Crackers. I made the mistake of giving him these and He won't snack on much more now.
-drinks out of a straw.
-I can tell his imagination is growing.
-Happiest in the mornings.
-loves to take the cap of the baby food jar and put it on and pull it off while being fed. And he even gets it on so well that all I would have to do is just twist it to close the jar. I wouldn't have to straighten the lid at all.
-loves to hold things and study them and how they move.
-still only has those two bottom teeth.
-started to scream to get your attention if he wants something i.e. more food, but doesn't have your attention already.
-hates getting into his infant carseat but loves to get into his rear facing one. He even tries to turn around so he can see in front of him.
-hates having shoes on his feet.
-shakes his head both yes or no at the correct times. Today he went to follow the cleaning lady around while she was here and I said "Blake no come back." and he looked back and me and shook his head yes and proceeded to crawl away. I also gave him a cracker and as he was eating I said "Does that taste good?" and he nodded and smiled at me like "oh yes!"

He is just so smart and I"m sure he will outsmart me soon. We love this little guy and can't imagine life without him.

To infinity and Beyond

Whenever I hold Blake till he falls asleep and then go lay him down…he instantly lays in this position. While he is looks as though he is jumping on the moon. I didn't even think about the fact that he is in astronaut jammies in this picture. ha! I wonder what he was dreaming about.

This kid

Will put his mouth on anything. He has no concept of germs. And for being a germaphobe myself, you would think I would be worried about it. But I'm not. And I think this is why he has only had two small colds and thats all he has been sick. I let him drag his binky on the ground when he crawls. I didn't worry about families hands being clean when they held him when he was a newborn. (had he been born during RSV season it would have been different.) Sometimes little things just aren't worth stressing over. :)

Grandpa Moeller

About a week or two ago Grandma Moeller pulled out Grandpa Moeller's baby picture. You now know where Blake gets his smile from. I think Blake is a spitting image of Grandpa Moeller after seeing this picture. Others however think he looks like Grandpa Woods still. I guess its those German genes coming from both the Moeller and Woods side.

The river

I was raised in a fly fishing family. And I'm glad Micah loves to fish and picked up and enjoys fly fishing because there is nothing quite like going and sitting beside the river while he fly fishes along side my brothers.

Snowbird

Micah's parents bought a timeshare up at snowbird back when they first got married. They let the kids use it now. We were lucky enough to be able to go up the Friday after Micah got done with the semester and spend the night. And while these are the only photos I took…they were probably the only ones I needed. All though a video of Blake in the pool would have been fun. Before we headed up to the bird we stopped to get a floating device for Blake for the pool. As we were walking into Wal-Mart Blake had his feet crossed of course. He always has his feet like this when he is relaxed. It is so funny. And I never get a picture. So I snatched this one while he was still asleep in his carseat.

We put Blakes swimming suit on him so we could head down to the pool. This just validates to me that he is in fact a skinny little bean. This swimming suit is size 12months. Long and thin is how we like them though.

And the third picture is Blakes bed. Yes you read right. His bed. We opted out of taking the pack n' play figuring we could just put blake on the floor. He doesn't move much at night so we figured this would work great. And plus he would probably end up in bed with us half way through the night. Well I am happy to report he slept better that night then he had in a long time. We thought we were pretty genius to come up with this. So now you know. You never have to worry about a pack n' play at the bird. :)

Summer Time

I just think flip flops on a babies feet is just about the cutest thing ever. So I had to snatch some up for Mr. Blake when I saw them in his size.

Standing

A little while ago someone decided it would be fun to start standing without support.  He gets better all the time. But still seems to get scared after about a minute of it. The other day this little skunk decided it would be cool to try and stand up on his own without grabbing onto anything and using it to help balance himself. He didn't get very far though. Only about 3 inches off the ground before he decided he can wait longer. I agree.

Hope Pemberton Prom Queen.

When Hope called and asked me to do her hair for her last and final prom I was a little nervous. Hope isn't one that is picky about things. So I knew the pressure wasn't much. But still. I wanted her to look gorgeous. Well a few days later Emily (Who made her dress) was taking her dress down to her for the final fitting. I believe it was the day before prom. I got a text with a picture of Hope in her dress and then another one with a crown. I wouldn't have thought much of the crown since people wear them for fun. But Emily said Hope made Prom Queen and this thing is heavy so you better be able to really make it stay in! Talk about pressure! So I started to google up-do's since I'm not the best at coming up with them. and found one I figured I could pretty easily. She wanted a vintage look. So really it wasn't too hard. I went down the next morning and did her hair that afternoon. I also threw on a little eye shadow and had her do her mascara. She is naturally pretty so I didn't do much. But here she is!

Here she is in her dress by her date! Fun times. I'm glad it all turned out. and she does look rather vintage if I do say so myself.

And I got a text from her the next day informing me that her crown and hair stayed in all night and wasn't uncomfortable! SUCCESS!

Climber

I think this boy is going to be a climber.
I went up and babysat Ry for a day while Becky flew up to Oregon so she could drive back with Brinton since he was finishing up his rotation up there. When Ry was taking a nap Blake was having fun crawling all over. I looked over at him and caught him climbing up on the couch. The only way he was able to make it up the whole thing was because the cushion was off.

A few days later I was holding Blake on the couch while talking to Micah. Blake started to put his foot on my arms, then shoulders, then pull himself over the couch. Crazy kid!

Pajamas!

I just love cute little boys in cute little skin tight jersey knit jammies!
Especially when that cute little boy is mine!

We can't get out of bed

Without opening the blinds and looking out the window for ten minutes or so….
I just love this little boy of ours.

Easter 2014

This year was Blakes' first Easter. We started out with a Easter party with the Moeller side on April 11th. Grandpa and Grandma Moeller put candy as well as money in easter eggs.
Most the kids were on their own. Before we were set loose to find eggs, Grandma Moeller told everyone there are enough eggs for everyone to have 19. We weren't allowed to shake the eggs either. (to find the ones with quarters) and what we found was what we found. NO making sure everyone got the same amount of money or anything this year.

Blake was pretty happy with his loot. And we got it done pretty fast too! We ended the night with a campfire.
The following Saturday was Grammie Woods's and Abuela's Easter egg hunt. Since Abuela was up for the MoTab choir concert for Easter, she was the on that Initiated that we do one.
Blake liked the twizzlers mini pull n peels.
Since Abuela was up she finally got her new phone. And what better phone to get her then a Green iPhone! She finally joined the smart phone world! She likes that its green!
We dyed only about five dozen eggs.
We relaxed outside. It was such a nice day! and played lots of badmitton. I don't have pictures of that though since I was playing most of the time.
Here we are right before church on Easter Sunday. The plan was to not have me matching the boys. But it ended up that way. And I honestly don't mind. Micah tries to match his tie according to my outfit anyways so naturally it worked out. :) Emily made me a coral shirt but it didn't fit right. So I made do with the yellow cardigan. I found the matching ties for Blake and Micah at Tie One On. Best tie store ever! Micah loves the tie so I'm glad I picked that one and not the other one I was going to. After seeing it in person…it wasn't really him. We then stayed at home for the evening and I'm glad we did! We had Eric and Annamarie and the boys over and Melinda and Steve came with their little boy and Grandpa Moeller cooked a ham. Then for dessert, Leann and her boys came up with Lani and Ma'afu. It was a lot of fun. We introduced baseball to Elijah and Braeden.
It was a good Easter.

Spring Time

We hit spring a little later where we live then SL does. Our daffodils and hyasinths started to bloom right before easter. Bring on the warmer weather...

Then last Monday April 28th we woke up to about a inch or two or three of snow.
Pish. Utah weather.

Blake the Model

The family in our ward who have an online boutique like to have Blake be a model for them. His most recent modeling gig involved modeling shoes. Here are some photos I snatched from the sidelines. :)

He was so cute on the rocking horse. He has never sat on one before but when we placed him on it…he sat there and started rocking it back and forth. With this huge smile on his face like look at what I can do. The little entertainer. He was the happiest baby that day from the three that were models. The Lee's were loving it. The shoes are genuine leather and go on so easily. They are supposed to be hard to take off but Blake pulls those things off about as quick as I can get them on. I think it may be because I got a size bigger so they last longer. They sell for only $30 on Nola Jade. And while those Moccasins are cute…these are different styles. Wide so your baby's fat feet can comfortably wear them…and half the price! And plus they have a selection for boys and girls! :)

Ever find something so funny...

That you just have to share it with others? Well that happened to me once while I was browsing Facebook. Here is the photo.

I could not stop laughing at this photo. Even hours after I saw it. I laughed so hard I started to cry. I shared it with Micah and he didn't find it all that funny. So I shared it with my sister. And she didn't either. Oh well.

On the go

This kid started walking a little bit ago thanks to the help from Dad. (Dad teaches him all sorts of mobile things i.e. crawling, walking. Mom refuses. A)because she wants him to be itty bitty forever. And B)life will only get more crazy the more he moves around.)  But he will only walk with a walker.
He has gotten much better at walking with it lately. And he is also standing on his own. He can't get from sitting to standing without help. But he will get there shortly I'm sure.

Charmer

I can't tell you how many times a day I look at this kid and think to myself "your so stinkin' cute Blake!!!" It seems like everywhere we go I hear "oh my gosh look at how cute he is!" And while a little piece inside of me says "are people just saying that to be nice?" 98% of the time its kinda behind my back and I pretend to not hear them. I simply just think "I know he is a stinking cute kid!"

Church

So a little while ago. Probably a month and a half ago….we forgot Blake's binky at home. I noticed this in the church parking lot. It was one of those weeks where we were running behind so I didn't run back home for it. Side note. Blake's love life consists of strictly his mom and then his binky. If he has those two he is good. It has to be in that order though. There are days I don't let him have his binky for a while, and honestly I don't think he notices for a while. He does pretty good. Anyways…back to the story. So I figured if he started to fuss I'd just give in a pouch of food. You know…those go-go squeeze food pouches? Thats what I had in mind to help settle him down. So of course right as the Deacons were passing the bread during the Sacrament Blake started fussing. Naturally since he didn't have his binky for a while I knew that was why he was fussing. So instead of taking him out…I pulled out a food pouch, opened it up, and decided to 86 the bib. Figuring it might make him more fussy if I delayed giving him food longer. Well…he decided it would be fun to grab the pouch, at the bottom of it. Mind you, I had it in my hands squeezing it into his mouth. Well he didn't let go. He sqoze it so tight that it squirted literally ALL OVER his face….and I think he was so shocked and didn't know what to do, so he just kept on squeezing it. it ended up on his shirt, tie, me, onesie. What did I miss?
In the moment my mom ego totally got deflated…here I was with the cutest baby around…dressed like a little man. Who gets told by everyone that he is adorable. And he just squirted food all over himself. Micah looked over and just started laughing. Literally right after I got the water I grabbed Blake and we left for home. As I was walking out to the car I replayed the situation in my mind and couldn't help but laugh. It was funny really. He is 9 months old and doesn't know what he is doing squeezing the pouch. I got him home and layed him down to change his clothes and tell him.."this is why we can't take you anywhere nice Blake!" (My family is always telling me this. I am famous for spilling things.) Got him packed back in the car and back to church we went. And yes…I made sure to grab his binky this time. I think we missed a total of 10 minutes of church.
This kid sure knows how to keep me on my toes.

Time to play catch up

Sooooo now that Micah is done with school…and not using the computer everyday….its time to play catch up on my posts. Life is getting busier the more mobile Blake becomes…which makes it hard to do much catching up on my phone. When he is sleeping I have the everyday stuff I try to get done. When he falls asleep at night….blogging is the last thing on my mind. So expect a lot of posts to come. :)
