Six months stats!

On Monday the 23rd Blake had his six month check up. He came in weighing 16lbs 1oz and he is 27.25 inches long! He jumped to the next percentile. He is in 74th for height and 54 for weight. The doctor was happy. Not that he was worried. But he was pleased he jumped. :) guess that oatmeal and fruits and veggies are doing some good!

They may be four and a half months apart

But man! Between my own child who hugs my arm while he eats as if he's saying "don't you dare touch that child" to McKay who wants to be held. It's almost like taking care of twins.

A boys best friend...

Blake finally discovered the tortious the other day.
While I was feeding him his applesauce for breakfast he notice Miss Zoey moving about in her cage and kept a close eye on her for the rest of the time.

Half a Year...

Already! Where does the time go? I don't think that I will ever know the answer to that question. Will anyone? Blake is 6 months old today! I swear just yesterday we were sitting in the hospital room waiting for him to finally arrive.

At Six Months Blake currently…

Sits up without support.
Eats applesauce, sweet potatoes, and squash.
Started to drink from a sippy cup.
Can roll around (if he wants to. He seems to learn how to do something and does it for a few days then stops doing it for a while as much as he did when he first learned it.)
Still can't seem to get enough of his mommy.
flips over and fights getting dressed/diaper changed. Yup a lot of the time I have to hold him down with my legs ALREADY! Pathetic.
Knows how to blow and lots of times blowing will consist of spitting with it.
Still loves to bounce.
LOVES technology. Its quite pathetic really. I used to be able to just flip my phone over and magically he would "ignore it" but now he is starting to reach for it when its flipped over. So now I have to tuck it away.
Loves to be sung to.
Is just getting into our turtle.
I know it was a fluke but I like to think that he waved goodbye the other day, not once but, twice. Once to Grandma Moeller before we left to go to Grammie Woods's house. And the other time, just after the first time, to Dad since he missed him doing it to Grandma.
Started to laugh at ore stuff and we have kind of discovered today that he seems to laugh more when he is ready for a nap.
Fights sleep.
Sleeps better if he is in our bed. I don't know if its security or warmth. I think its security personally. When I grab him at night when he wakes up to eat he is always really warm if not sweaty. He has always been a really warm sleeper. He also sleeps better in our arms during the day. So I really think its the security thing.
Is starting to like Dad more again. (FINALLY)

I know the list could go on. But I will stop it there. He seems so big, yet, for his percentile he is still on the small side. People tease me that he is still small when I say he is getting chunky. Let me be clear. Yes he is still a stick. But I like to compare him to himself. He was even skinnier for the first few months of his life that now he is a little chunk! When compared to others yes he is pretty skin and bones still. But honestly me and Micah like it that way. :) I am anxious to know his stats but we won't know those till next Monday. I'm thinking he is about 15 lbs. And maybe 26.5 inches. But we will see for sure.

Doesn't He look so cozy in his carseat? Wish I could travel around like that!

He will play with anything he can get his hands on.

Sitting up. He has been doing so good with keeping balanced lately.

He loves to put things in his mouth. Including Dads finger. ha Micah though it felt so funny.

We get to play with Cousin McKay a couple times a week.

These two are about 4.5 months apart.

Blake couldn't get enough of McKay after we took the side by side pictures. He seriously got mad and wouldn't calm down will I sat with him next to Grandma and he could just stare at McKay. He even gave McKay kisses.

Notice Blake in the background? Ya Zoey even distracts Blake from eating sometimes.

First time "playing" in the snow. I think he liked the fact he was outside more then the fact it was snowing.

The day after he got his sippy, he already knew how to hold it. I kid you now. How is beyond me.

He is getting more and more interactive every day. And is too aware of whats going on around him. He cries every time I leave the room. It can be a pain sometimes. Like when I leave to go to the bathroom. once I am out of sight he is good though. He is so alert. He has been from day one. Which I think is partly way he has such a hard time with naps. He is a fun little guy and we love him to death. Life is just going to get crazier once he can crawl. I'm just waiting for the day. He will be one that gets into EVERYTHING! I just know it.

5 Months!

Yup. Another month older already! When will life slow down? Little boss man is getting too big! Just tonight he would sit up (with my help) and he would lean forward and then a miracle happened and he sat up right on his own, balanced himself out, and held it for quite a while! I counld not believe it! Amazing! He is such a wiggle worm.
At 5 months Blake weighs 14 lbs 8 oz and is 25 inches long! He is (as of yesterday) now fitting into 6 month clothes. He is blowing too. It's the cutest little thing ever. I'm thinking he learne this from us seeing as how we ALWAYS blow in his face. He sticks out his tounge and puckers his little lip right up and blows. And because he drools up a swimming pool, you might get sprayed too. He is not so much into my hair lately as much as he is into grabbing at my mouth, or face for that matter. He seriously is into scratching at EVERYTHING! It drives me a little crazy. Especially at night when he is doing it to fight sleep.

Speaking of sleep. He has become a horrible sleeper. The other night, I think we experience our first night ever of him wanting to be awake. He would just lay in bed with us an look around and make pleasent little noises. And luckily he didn't make us turn on the light. So I was able to sleep through a lot of it. Yup. He ends up in bed with us for the majority of the night. And has since day one. I know. It's dangerous. But I am conviced this little boy is such a snuggle bug that he needs to sleep with us to sleep better at night. Lately he will snuggle right up next to my tummy. ( I've become a side sleeper since being pregnant). It's too cute and I have also become quite the light sleeper and can't sleep well with him there. But it's better then him beig awake every half hour or so. (At least it feels that way). We tried to feed him rice cereal the minute we got the okay. He wouldn't have anything to do with it. And now he can't get enough. Especially with the oatmeal. We started to mix it with some applesauce and man, that made all the difference. He now can't get enough. With how much he eats of rice cereal, I'm a little concerned how much he will need to eat of solids to get full.

He also started to roll ALL OVER THE PLACE! We place him on the middle of a
Blanket and not too long after he will be off of it. It's so fun to see him develop and grow, but it's also a little depressing. My baby is growing up!

He also is quit the mom as boy that kid! It's cute and frustrating at the same time. Just today I handed him to Micah so I could go to the bathroom. Well as soon as I started to leave he started to scream.  Like I said a little frustrating. Especially when dinner needs to be made.

He finally started really laughing. But they are still few and far between. And he won't laugh at the same thing twice. Unless you haven't tried it for a few days. Then if your lucky, he will laugh at it again.

Also if he is fussy, all you have to do is sing a song he likes and BAM! He will stop fussing and just stare and smile at you! It's funny to see.

I know I talk about how fussy he is a lot but really he is happy a lot of the time as well. And when he is, he lights up the room. Especially first thing in the mornings.

We love him and he is so fun to have in our little family.

Better late the never

I know, I know. It's almost December and I'm just getting around to posting Halloween pictures.

I have a good excuse. Life as a somewhat new mom is busy. Especially with a clingy babe. Holy moly. I was a Velcro baby myself. It's not wonder who he learned it from. And man. Can I just say sorry mom. I had NO clue how tuff it was to get things done. Had I known, I would have kept myself entertained.

Anyways. I know I always seem to have the best excuses to keep putting off the dusty ol' blog.

Halloween was great. Blake dressed up as what I thought was a genius idea...(enter fanfare)....A MINION!!!!!

I know. I can hardly stand the cuteness myself. I was back and forth deciding if I was truly going to dress him up. All the time being a minion is what I has my heart set on. I had the overalls and so all I had to do was find a yellow shirt and make goggles. No biggie right? Well that's what I thought too. Until it was a week before and I still hadn't looked for that dang yellow shirt at all! Living in Midway serves its own challenges. Heber has a few thrift stores. But no DI! I know a thrift store is a thrift store. But not in my mind. I know that DI washes clothes before being put out. So I felt more comfortable going to DI. My sister in law told me that I had to dress Blake up especially since it is his fisrt Halloween. So I decided to after all. My visiting teachers came over before Halloween and one had too me he might have a doctor outfit for him. Well I just decided to stick with the minion. Talked to Micah about it and we out or heads together and came up with using toilet paper rolls for the goggles and then I wanted to out eye balls in them so I came up with the felt idea for the whites of the eyes and was just going to do Blake felt circles for the iris. We were trying to did a shirt at Walmart and couldn't find one...of course. So we came up with the idea to dye one. So we found the dye. Low and behold, what's in the craft area? Googly eyes! So that became the iris. Micah's dad had some aluminum tape stuff which we taped to the outside of the toilet paper rolls and then the black headband is just elastic from left over scraps from my wedding.

I originally wasn't going to do a hat. But then my sister said I should. And quite frankly I'm really glad I did! We just went to Joann's and found some yellow jersey knit fabric and she whipped one up in five minutes. Super simple. And that is his costume. Can I just say I thought i was being creative and unique? Every baby I swear ended up being a minion. Which is okay because obviously no baby was as cute as him as a minion. I took him to my moms work and we walked him around her department and he was a hit! Everyone LOVED his costume! And I mean EVERYONE! He even got his pictures taken by a few people. It seriously turned out awesome. I then took him to the bookstore because Pete wanted me too. And it was fun since everyone I used to work with was there and loved it as well! How could people not! It turned out perfect! We then went home and took his costume off. It was a success though! It's ones costume I will keep and probably reuse! Love it to death!

4 months!

Blake's four month birthday crept up on us. I swear he was just born! At 4 months he weighs 13 lbs 2 oz and is 25 inches long. Which puts him in the 13th percentile for weight and 45th percentile for height. So small still but looking big to us. We are used to a skin and bones little dude. Ha. His little personality is so fun. I swear some of the stuff he does usually doesn't happen till about six months of age. He definately is opinionated about how he likes things. Like he has to have the blaket over his face to sleep. He will grab your hand and out it over his eyes if the sun is in his face. He will also put your hand back by his eye if you try to pull it away after running your fingers under his eye if he wants you to tickle his face longer. He will use whatever part of you he can to dog his fa dingo you and rub it when he is tired. I.e. Rubbing his eyes. He loves his hands still. And anything he can put in his mouth. If it reaches his hands it goes straight for his mouth. Including my hair. He started jabbering again. And I mean jabbering A TON! He used to in the mornings when he was like a month or two old. He stopped but recently picked it back up all day long. He sits up for a good minute or two and is even balancing himself back out if he begins to topple over. He started to laugh. But he won't laugh at the same thing you were doing twenty minutes before. He definatly know what he wants Nd you better give it to him or he will be crying till he gets it. We love him so much. Micah keeps on saying when he jabbers to you "that is the cutest thing EVER!" He definatly Brits us happiness and makes us proud!

Whose child is he?

I give him lots of toys to play with and he still falls asleep!
He must not be my child. I hated sleeping growing up. Guess he really is going through another growth spurt....without his parents approval. Micah keeps on saying he is getting too big. I couldn't agree more.

Another Month Older

Yup! This cute kid is 3 months old! At times I sit here and think already? And other days I feel like "only three months?" In a good way of course. This kid has a strong personality that's for sure! He sure knows what he wants and knows how to get it! He fusses mostly when he is hungry and tired and in between. He is 11 lbs 12 oz and I think but not totally sure 23.5 inches still. He might be 24.5 inches though. He eats every two hours and sometimes every hour and a half. He still will put himself to sleep at night. All we have to do is kiss him goodnight out the blankets on him and make sure his binki is in his mouth. He will pull the blanket up over his head if there is lights on and close his little eyes and fall asleep. No rocking needed or anything. I like it and don't try to have him fall asleep in my arms for fear that he will get used to that at night. Like he is during the day. All though...today I layed him in bed to take a nap and I had to give him his binki about 20 times but eventually he got there. But not without Ricky Raccoon by his face and music on. And he slept for like 40 minutes. Not great but progress. He usually won't nap unless he is in someones arms. But I will take a napless day over a sleepless night any day! He wakes up about very two hours at night lately but usually goes rigt back to sleep. Unless it's starting to get light outside. Then he will come hop in bed with us. I'm horrible and started him on his habit since day one. I know it's not safe for baby. But I sleep to light anymore and most the time he is kicking his legs on mine or grunts or both so I don't sleep much anyway. He is getting chunky. And by chunky I mean meat on his thighs and a little round face. He is just so long that he is still skinny looking. He is such a ham and will smile up the wazoo in the morning. He lives to cuddle and watch tv with Dad when ever possible. We sure love him!

I just realized....

....I never posted about Blake turning two months. And here we are about to hit the three month mark. At two months his stats are....weight 9lbs 12oz. 9th percentile. Haha little skinny dude! His height? 23.5 inches. Which is 58th percentile and his head is 39 centimeters round. Which is 24th percentile. So what he is missing in weight is because he is so tall right? Lol that's what we say. As long as he continues on his growth curve we will be good. But I'm positive he is. He has gained since his appointment. So it will be interesting to see what he is weighing in at on his four month check up. Everything else developmental wise he is doing great. And right on track. The doctor is shocked again at how strong he is. He can hold his own weight and has since about two weeks old. And his head is crazy strong. So we are proud.

My walking buddy

Isn't he cute?
He is so pleasant on walks! He rarely cries. Just if we stop. Which means he is also a great motivator to keep on trucking along! There is just one problem. He falls asleep mid walk. I'm not sure whether its cause I'm boring or the stroller is too soothing. Man I love my little walking buddy!

8/4/13

We blessed Blake on Sunday August 4th 2013. He was blessed by his dad. Micah gave a wonderful blessing. He blessed him with a desire to study the scriptures. To have a strong spirit to know good from evil. To have a desire to serve a mission and marry in the temple. It was a wonderful day. After the blessing our families came back to our house and we had a BBQ with hamburger and hot dogs and salads. It wasn't too hot, a little windy but we will take that over hear. We set up chairs and tables in the back yard under the shade and hung out there till about 4:30. Micahs parents back yard is about a acre and a half of grass. That made it so the little kids could run around. It's great we love it. We bought Blake's outfit and then Micah's mom
Knitted the beautiful blanket and cute booties. She is one talent lady!!! Thank you Grandma! The blanket turned out perfect!
For generations. I didn't catch too many pictures. Non with extended family but all my siblings and families were there and my mom and Abuela then Micah's sisters and their families were there. And his parents if course. Then we had Riley and his fiancé Janae and Abby and Janeane Veazie with Robert Jarrel and Dristeena and Rory.

I never post

And I am truly sorry about that. We finally got a computer so hopefully that will be easier from here on out. currently I am trying to figure out how to get my photos from my iPhone to the macbook through iCloud. My issue is Micah is the one who put down his apple ID. So if you know how to do this..HELP A SISTA OUT! Until then...peace out my fellow peeps!

Playing catch up!

I need to desperately get caught up. But where to start. I guess with a week or two before Father's Day. So a little history. I come from a family of strictly fly fishermen. Micah comes from a family that lake fishes. Explanation ended. Micah took a fly fishing class in college and had fun with it but never really took it further then that. That is until we met. Okay after we got married. Since we live about ten minutes from my Brothers fishing hole we have met up with them a few times. I always felt bad though because they were always in the water and Micah fishing from the bank. He was okay with it. That was until a week before Father's Day of this year. We finally went and got Micah his fly fishing gear. All of it. Like his fly rod, flies, waders, boots, vest, fly box. I could keep going but you get the idea. The poor kid was so excited to use the stuff but he ended up waiting a few days due to timing of everything.
Here he is picking out flies with my brother Pete.
Practicing his casting with his new rod in our back yard.
And him in his new get up for fishing. Haha he HATES his picture taken and it took a lot for me to get him to let me take it. I will take what I can get. Anyways so Tuesday before Blake was born we finally went to the river with my brother Pete and Micah got to use his stuff. He enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching him! I don't know what it is, probably the fact I grew up watching my brothers and dad fly fish but I find it attractive. So the fact my husband enjoys it is a bonus for me. I also love going and sitting by the river. Can you blame me when I have this view!!!
Anyways. So this all happened the week leading up to Blake's birth. A week after he was born we went down to my moms house. I get stir crazy if I sit around for too long and I will admit I wanted to take my baby somewhere. And with it brig summer. I am glad I don't have to worry and RSV season...just yet. At my moms my sister in law, Becky, with Becky Ann photography, took Blake's newborn pictures. In my moms front room!
The next weekend we went down for Taylorsville Dayzz. We just went for the fireworks and sadly I dot have any pictures. But yes we took Blake and yes he slept through the fireworks. And yes we protected his two week old ears. :) we stayed the night and went to my aunt and uncles homecoming talk. Reporting on their mission in Germany. It was so good to see them! And of course family. We have also been to a two week appointment for Blake and found out he was weighing in at 7lbs 5oz at two weeks. He was also circumcised (no pictures of course!) and found out he is a tuff little dude and didn't cry! It amazed Micah and I might add, he bragged about it! What a proud set of parents are we! Three weeks old brought on the 4th of July! Again no pictures. But man he was fussy that night! He would not go to sleep! He fights it like a fat kid eats cake! It's quit pathetic actually. We also went and saw disposable me 2 and loved it. It will be added to the collection! We went to a gender reveal party for Micah's sister and her husband and found out that Blake will be getting another boy cousin!! We also saw just how much of a binki baby Blake really is!
Yup! He is sucking on the side of the binki! I told you he was a binki boy! Don't worry we don't want him having a binki older then a year. We took Blake fishing on his first trip to Jordanelle to catch some perch.
He enjoyed it so much he slept through it all!!
Sadly we didn't catch any perch.
But we caught lots of bass! Nothing no enough to keep though!  We have been enjoying spending time with Brinton and Becky and the kids while they are here and even caught Dane sleeping comfortably.
Blake got his first big toy purchase
An activity mat, he is still trying to get used to it!
.we love cuddling with dad! In fact we love it so much that at times...he is the only one who can settle Blake down and get him to sleep! Grandma Moeller doesn't quit get it! Ha!
Blake is obviously the cool kid on the block!!!! We also had the woods side baby shower! Ashley came and enjoyed holding Blake some more!
An then we went fishing again his past Friday with Brinton and Pete!!! Brinton caught fish! Pete caught a couple and Micah caught one with lots of hits!
Brintons fish
Pete's fish
And Micah's fish!
Such a little thug milk beard and all!
Saturday was mine and Micah's one year anniversary! Blake got baby sat by grammie and me and Micah got to go to Cheesecake Factory!!! We were going to go to the roof but opted for Cheesecake Factory. Cheep and you still get full and get to take home your left overs!!! Monday Blake hit his one month mark and he is getting bigger everyday! We love him to death and have a hard time believing he is ours and that we aren't just tending someone else's baby. One day I'm sure it will hit. I think that catches us up to date! Hopefully I will update it often now!!!
