Better late the never

I know, I know. It's almost December and I'm just getting around to posting Halloween pictures.

I have a good excuse. Life as a somewhat new mom is busy. Especially with a clingy babe. Holy moly. I was a Velcro baby myself. It's not wonder who he learned it from. And man. Can I just say sorry mom. I had NO clue how tuff it was to get things done. Had I known, I would have kept myself entertained.

Anyways. I know I always seem to have the best excuses to keep putting off the dusty ol' blog.

Halloween was great. Blake dressed up as what I thought was a genius idea...(enter fanfare)....A MINION!!!!!

I know. I can hardly stand the cuteness myself. I was back and forth deciding if I was truly going to dress him up. All the time being a minion is what I has my heart set on. I had the overalls and so all I had to do was find a yellow shirt and make goggles. No biggie right? Well that's what I thought too. Until it was a week before and I still hadn't looked for that dang yellow shirt at all! Living in Midway serves its own challenges. Heber has a few thrift stores. But no DI! I know a thrift store is a thrift store. But not in my mind. I know that DI washes clothes before being put out. So I felt more comfortable going to DI. My sister in law told me that I had to dress Blake up especially since it is his fisrt Halloween. So I decided to after all. My visiting teachers came over before Halloween and one had too me he might have a doctor outfit for him. Well I just decided to stick with the minion. Talked to Micah about it and we out or heads together and came up with using toilet paper rolls for the goggles and then I wanted to out eye balls in them so I came up with the felt idea for the whites of the eyes and was just going to do Blake felt circles for the iris. We were trying to did a shirt at Walmart and couldn't find one...of course. So we came up with the idea to dye one. So we found the dye. Low and behold, what's in the craft area? Googly eyes! So that became the iris. Micah's dad had some aluminum tape stuff which we taped to the outside of the toilet paper rolls and then the black headband is just elastic from left over scraps from my wedding.

I originally wasn't going to do a hat. But then my sister said I should. And quite frankly I'm really glad I did! We just went to Joann's and found some yellow jersey knit fabric and she whipped one up in five minutes. Super simple. And that is his costume. Can I just say I thought i was being creative and unique? Every baby I swear ended up being a minion. Which is okay because obviously no baby was as cute as him as a minion. I took him to my moms work and we walked him around her department and he was a hit! Everyone LOVED his costume! And I mean EVERYONE! He even got his pictures taken by a few people. It seriously turned out awesome. I then took him to the bookstore because Pete wanted me too. And it was fun since everyone I used to work with was there and loved it as well! How could people not! It turned out perfect! We then went home and took his costume off. It was a success though! It's ones costume I will keep and probably reuse! Love it to death!
